NWO: Judith Rietjens: ‘It is difficult for people to know what they want if they are ill’

… people to formulate their objectives and preferences for future medical treatments and care, to discuss these with family and care providers and, if desired, to record these and, if necessary, revise them. The ACTION study is investigating in six countries whether ACP gives patients with advanced cancer a better quality of life. The research results will be published this year.
