The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service from the U.S. Department of State. It helps the U.S. embassy to support your safety while you are traveling in another country. When you enroll and register for a trip, you will receive emails with news, alerts, and travel advisories about the location. With STEP, the local embassy can also:
