RIVM

Difterie kan behandeld worden met antibiotica. Bij difterie in de longen wordt soms tegengif gegeven. Hiervoor moet de patiënt naar het ziekenhuis. Difterie in de keel, luchtwegen of longen moet direct behandeld worden. Anders kan de patiënt ernstige klachten krijgen.
